The problem behind this statement is the changing time, environment and human habits. In the past, this was totally legitimate, but today it is not the natural way of life anymore. It was at the point in time we went hunting or simply needed meat and dairy to survive. But it is definitely not a “natural” process since we have factory farms all over the world where we control the numbers of farm animals by breeding them into existence and killing them a few months later just so we can eat meat on a daily basis. This controlling of their numbers by breeding and killing them happens in every farm independent if it is a factory farm or a regular one. And since we are calling ourselves the superior species we should also think about the responsibility it brings by being on the top of the food chain. We have a choice (not like other animals) and supermarkets full of different options. The only thing we have to do is pick the non-dairy milk instead of the cow’s milk or some vegetables (or vegan meat) instead of the regular meat. If we are talking about aboriginal people who still live in the jungle and hunt with simple weapons to feed their family we can call it a natural way of life and when I am talking about veganism I am talking about modern societies where we eat meat out of pleasure and not survival.

This is what we have in our head as natural and in times when humans had to hunt or eat meat to survive this was a legitimate argument.

But this is how it actually looks like (or worse) and even if the circumstances are better, which is only the case for a small part of the animals we cannot call it natural anymore. How is it natural to control their numbers, hold them in cages, cram them and genetically modify them so they are more productive? This is not natural this is just how supply and demand and economy works.

Do the change and go vegan

By simply making other choices in the supermarket you can have a direct impact on the harm caused to other living beings. If you have any concerns regarding veganism have a look at my other articles and if you still have open questions or if you are struggling at a specific point, just leave me a comment or contact me directly. If you want to support this webpage and me to continue spreading the vegan message you can do this here. Thank you a lot.

Don’t close your eyes and ask yourself what stops you to make a difference? I am convinced you won’t regret it.
