In our society, we often think eating meat is something manly. Which is another time the work of good advertisement and probably also from history where the man was hunting while the woman took care of the child. Besides, I had the same mindset when I was younger. But most of us have never been hunting (despite for the best price of a piece of meat in the supermarket). So what is so manly about buying a piece of dead flesh in a supermarket and eat it? I don’t really see a difference between buying and/or eating broccoli or a piece of meat. I realized it is only advertising and highfalutin talk from man which also believe it. One reason for me to go vegan was the curiosity how it would influence my body and live and I didn’t want to support this statement anymore.

Because I realized it is way more manly to protect the innocent and weak than supporting an industry which is exploiting animals which have no chance to defend themselves. So neither killing an animal nowadays nor buying the meat in the supermarket makes someone more manly than not supporting this industry.

Who would you call a man or hero: The one protecting someone from getting murdered or the one who hired the murderer? If we take it on a human level the answer is pretty simple. And as we are talking about other living beings which also have feelings (including pain) and which don’t even have the chance to talk with us or protect themselves like we are able to, I think it is fair to make this comparison. They are more vulnerable and innocent than any other human. And everyone would agree with me that someone who is protecting a cat or a dog from an aggressive human is doing the right thing. So let’s not be a speciesist (read more about this here).

Tell me, what is more manly: protecting/not harming this innocent sheep or grab it manly (already cut into pieces) out of the freezer in the supermarket with your own manly hands? (Sorry for the sarcasm, couldn’t help it ^^)

Do the change and go vegan

By simply making other choices in the supermarket you can have a direct impact on the harm caused to other living beings. If you have any concerns regarding veganism have a look at my other articles and if you still have open questions or if you are struggling at a specific point, just leave me a comment or contact me directly. If you want to support this webpage and me to continue spreading the vegan message you can do this here. Thank you a lot.

Don’t close your eyes and ask yourself what stops you to make a difference? I am convinced you won’t regret it.

Cheers,
